Vale Keith ‘Cocky’ Caldwell

Sadly on 30 May 2021, our mate and Police rugby league brother, Keith ‘Cocky’ Caldwell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Cocky was a legend Police rugby league player, who was associated for many years with the Illawarra Police rugby league team. He represented country police on many occasions as well as being a member of the NSW Police rugby league first representative team to tour England in 1990. This team was very strong, shadowing the Australian Kangaroo team, the NSW Police team were also undefeated during this tour, including beating the Wakefield Trinity super league team comprising of half reserve and half first grade. Keith was a clever halfback who could play a game in a ‘dinner suit’. Keith was a unique character who loved a laugh but adored his wife Maria and his children Jamie, Alicia, Natalie and Catherine.

Keith served at the coalface with the NSW Police Force for 30 years.

Keith was also the President of the Bulli surf life saving club for 17 years and was described as the ‘Lifeblood’ of the club.

Rest in peace Cocky, our NSWPRL brother.
