Sean Hampstead
Joined NSW Police in 1986.
Was recruited by Police Rugby League legend Doc Halliday to be referee for Balmain Police team shortly after joining.
Played one game of Police Rugby League for Balmain.
Was graded as a first grade referee between 1989 – 2008. He refereed 294 1st grade games. He refereed 3 State of Origin games and two test matches.
In 2009 once finished refereeing grade, he immediately returned to refereeing NSW Police Rugby League carnivals and representative games. He has taken a lead role in organising and running the NSW Police Rugby League referees for the last 17 years.
He was also awarded Life Membership of NSW Rugby League Referees Association in 2018.
He was awarded his Life Members jacket from ex referee and NSWPRL Life Member Steve Wilson.
