CRONULLA SHARKS 2011

The 2011 Shark team were in the rebuilding phase after losing some of their long serving veterans, Glenn Winter and Corey Kinsella. Despite this they defeated tournament favourites Manly in game 1. In game 2, Cronulla and NSWPRL coach Craig Sheridan formed a game plan to topple the revamped Combined Services outfit who had increased their playing roster with the inclusion of twelve Corrective services officers. The match was a fierce encounter and some said, one of the toughest Police rugby league games they had witnessed for years. A few unsavoury incidents took the spotlight off the exciting fast open football played, resulting in one player from each side being marched. Cronulla deservedly won the match. The Central coast forfeited to Cronulla in game three projecting Cronulla to the top of Group A. However, Cronulla lost two points due to an incident deemed by the committee to warrant so and unfortunately missed playing in the Grand Final.
